Matwork Pilates

 

Without props

60 min Matwork Pilates class - no equipment needed other than a mat if you have one. All levels welcome as modifications are always offered throughout class for beginners and more advanced participants. This is a classical, technically minded practice, focused on correct body alignment and appropriate breath patterns.

 

With props

60 min Matwork Pilates class - introduces exercise variations utilising a variety of props including Pilates mini stability ball, flexband and fitness circle. Minimum required for class is the mini stability ball and flexband. Typically designed for non-beginners, the props provide added challenges in the form of instability, resistance and range of movement.

Want a dancer’s body?

60 min upbeat combination of ballet barre and Pilates exercises, integrated with music to get the heart rate pumping. This class is a non-stop workout, borrowing technique and movements from dance and crafted into a free flowing, fun and energetic session. Your heart rate will increase, you will sweat, so get ready for a burn.

1. Matwork Pilates - without props

60 min prenatal Pilates class suitable for any trimester requiring no equipment beyond a workout mat if you have one. Perfect for both beginners and the more advanced, as all Prenatal exercise requires modifications from standard workouts. Safe, fun and with specific guidance for all stages of pregnancy. To add some variety in your week, consider the Pilates ‘with props’ class also.

2. Barre Fitness - prenatal modifications

60 min gentle barre fitness class, combining dance and Pilates principles, integrated with music to stimulate your heart rate and blood flow. This session is modified to ensure the correct balance of exertion and safety for you and baby. The class flows continuously resulting in a fun and energetic session. Hand weights and a swiss ball are required. Expect a healthy glow, a big smile (and to introduce your baby to some rhythm!)

3. Matwork Pilates - with props

60 min Matwork Pilates class - introduces gentle exercise variations utilising a variety of props including Pilates mini stability ball, flexband and fitness circle. Minimum required for class is the mini stability ball and flexband. Typically designed for non-beginners, the props provide added challenges in the form of instability, resistance and range of movement. This session is modified to ensure safety for mum and baby at all stages of pregnancy.

Postnatal Practice

Complete Postnatal series, specifically designed for new mums. Starting gently and building confidence following the expert guidance of a certified Postnatal expert instructor, with her own baby.
UK Chief Medical Officer Official Physical Activity guidelines say new mums should aim for at least 150 mins of exercise weekly. This is roughly 25 mins a day, 6 days a week and the basis of the Postanal Exercise series.
